I rent an apartment out in a newly built area and my tennants are constantly phoning me up to sort the noisey party sounds out, it's a nightmare at times because the noisey neighbours are tennants themselves so I have to contact landlords to contact their tennants etc etc...
Buy a town house for an extra 30k and get an extra 300 sq ft of building IMO.

I live in a brand new appartment and I love it. Only 4 appartments in our 2 storey block, and we're all the same kind of age. Have no problems with noise, none of my Walls touch another appartment and no one above us (get use of the loft too). Views out into fields. Only annoying thing is only one parking space.

I don't mind my apartment either... only two things that annoy me are:
1. No balcony or outside space; and
2. I wish it was a little bit bigger with a second bedroom.
