im looking for a decent video camera thats compatable with a mount that goes onto a roll cage.

what systems have you got?

i dont want a motorsport camera because i will also want to use it out and about. e.g recording from the side of the track etc

any help?

i did look at this bit of kit but it wouldnt really allow me to film by the side of the track as there is no screen to see what im recording. thats why i really wanted to go for a camcorder then find a mount for it that would attatch to my roll cage

I have a B Hague roll cage mount (£40 or so) for my Sony MiniDV camcorder.

Have a MotorSport HERO Wide and mount for external car stuff

does the b hague mount and sony cam do a satisfactory job?
i know its not going to be as good as a proper motorsport bullet cam
but i just want the a budget all round set up at the moment.

Yeah it fixes to the cage, you can see it here...



Ive just used a camera I borrowed from uni, or at least I planned to. Never actually used it on track.

cable ties work very well too if you can't be doing with a mount

you SHOULDNT be allowed out on track with a camera cable tied to a cage.

i had abit of trouble going out once when i borrowed a mount that sucked onto the window. thats why i want a cage mount

Its a much better solution.... much less vibrations (it moves with car etc)
