My girlfriends dad did it with a drill and a really small drill bit, he said it hardly even hurt.

Lol, isnt this really painfull? My mate said she screamed so loud in the hospital when they done it. First attempt didnt go through the nail

It shouldn't be painful at all, no.

The nail has no nerve endings, the nail-bed underneath does however. The pain with subungal haematoma comes from exactly that, pressure from the trapped blood.

When trephined you should only experience a relief of pain rather than an increase.

Unless of course you do it wrong...!

meh. spent all night playing with car. just been hospital had xray not broke it but they cant let the pressure out, should of gone this morning when i did it.
