Not 100% sure tbh but when you look at the inlets infront of the tb's its totally different. No afm for one and possible different management???

either way big ££££££ for csl noise

you can't fit the actual csl inlet to a normal M3 (unless some mental wiring, probably ecu reprogramming done) as it has an electronically adjusted flap on the front.
The csl makes more power with ECU upgrades. It has better oil cirulation as well.
also some were de-restricted by BMW for people with racing licences so nearly 200mph can be done.
