ok so i have the (!) symbol lit up... it started to only come on when i turned a sharp right hand bend or a roundabout. But it slowly got more sensitive and now its on 100% of the time. Does anyone have an idea of the problem or a check list handy for warning lights that i can work my way throught, ? thanks in advance

isnt that the handbrake light check the switch under the handbrake

i thought that it did more than just that? e.g fluid of sum sort/ brakes...... corsa b ls bwt thanks for response

dont think they have owt like that think its just newer modles that got warnings for fluid n stuff check the wiring on the handbrake

It is one of two things. Either handbrake switch, or more likely, low brake fluid. Top it up to the max mark and test drive it. 
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Mine used to come on, on my old car, when i went round left bends. Brake fluid was low

as said low brake fluid or the hand brake cable is jamming on when turning, but more than liely the brake fluid
