mate of mine just done a straight engine swap because he blew the old engine up. its all fitted and wired up but when he starts the car it runs for a couple of seconds then the engine management lights starts flasshing and then the car turns off
Any ideas?

has he changed the ecu with the engine

imobiliser, did he use the ecu from the replacement engine or your own engine?

You need to either use your original ECU or you need to get the key reader (the bit that sits on the ignition barrel) and the key c hip from the old car.. Much easier to change the ecu over though
