Who remembers the House Party on a Saturday night?
I was thinking about it the other day and it got me wondering about the part of the show where they pranked viewers with hidden cameras in their homes whilst they were sat watching telly...
Surely this must have been a fix? How could you not notice the camera? And it just so happened that they'd be watching something else at the time? Well what would have happened if that "something else" was a bit of blue? Could you imagine the embarrasment if they'd started smacking one out on the sofa in front of the nation?
Telly just isn't the same these days

It wasn't like that tho was it. The family they lived with were the people behind the scenes helping it be setup. It was only that one person who wasn't in on it.

OK, but still how did they not notice something out of place? Camera's back then, especially of broadcast quality, weren't exaclty small. And bear in mind that generally the tellys weren't that big either... surely they'd stand out? Then there'd be the broadcast van & setup in the street outside.... come on, please don't say people were that oblivious?

The broadcast van wouldn't be parked outside for weeks would it? It could pull up outside 5mins before.
You're telling me you've never been immersed in a movie for 2hrs?
With the help of the family they live with, I can't see it being too much of a problem to pull off.

yeah it was a top program. the gotcha oscars was funny and i agree with brett, it's not exactly difficult to prank someone is it? it's not like they had a shit load of cameras in their houses.

Would have been far easier back then to plank a camera on the TV as they were all massive CRTs with orniments on them.
