My old XE snapped a belt at 60mph in 5th gear.Only damage was 8 bent valves.

My 2.0 16v Mk3 Golf stripped the belt at 60mph and bent 8 valves and snapped the woodruff key in the cam sprocket.

TBH mate its a guessing game as to what damage its done until the head is off.U never know,u may be lucky.

Ive experienced a belt snap a few times so know as soon as its happens, let off the gas and dont try start it etc.

i actually laughed at that

got visions of a forged piston giving a few valves the middle finger.
