Since I have had the LET, its always been around 4k rpm when the boost kicks in properly. With it being a hybrid turbo I just assumed that was the reason. Anyhow, today my dumpvalve arrived and upon blanking off the stock recirc valve and taking it for a spin, the boost now picks up much much earlier. Upon opening up the stock recirc valve, there was no spring in there and im sure there is supposed to be a spring between the cover plate and the diaphram (I know there is on the ZLET recirc valves). I have done a bit of digging on the net which suggests there should be but I cant find any images or diagrams to confirm this. Could someone just confirm for me that there should have been a spring in there?
Thanks

yeah, its the same setup in the stock recirulation valve I think. Now the standard one is blanked off, its boosting ten times quicker than before

Yes there should be a spring in the recirc valve to obviously help the unit open and close. Did you buy the turbo brand new or second hand?

Sorry ill re-phrase
My Hybrid turbo came blocked off, therefor it did not have a spring in it, This might explain why you didnt find a spring. (Becuase it was already taken out/not put in)

If it was blanked though it should have a washer in.

the turbo was on the car when I got it. I know it used to have a dumpvalve on it in the past but someone removed it before I became the owner... May explain why there is no spring in there then if they removed the old washer. Thanks for the help guys!
