No he hasn't, Britain is rife with Polish and Romanians that come here and send money home via a commuting family member.
The thing is with Polish and Romanian workers, £200 a week cash in hand is like earning the equivilant of £1500 over there (example).
A guy I was working alongside once told me (and he proved it later on) that he was working in Britain for 2 years so he could fund the newbuild of his home in Romania, setup a new pub and pay for his daughters modelling career for the next 30 years atleast. They come here, send it home, eventually go back and live like millionaires.

Most of them who was sending money back home went back due to shit currency exchange rate..
I know quite few poles, doing jobs ranging from factory jobs to managers...
Many bought houses(mortgage) and dont really bother to go back to Poland even for a week per year...

I don't even bother tendering for jobs in Eastern Europe anymore, there is no point, I could spend a whole day pricing from drawings and it would be a complete waste of 8 hours.  Because you just get undercut for what I consider a decent price, but they would work for 4 times less.
