hello i have a 1.0 12v corsa b what would i need to put a 1.6 8v in could i keep my gearbox and clutch ?
can i use a loom and ecu from another vauxhal 8v ?

Yes you can keep your gearbox, clutch should be fine.
ECU will need to be the 1.6 and loom is debateable as to whether you get a multi or single point injection engine.
I'm going from 1.29v to 1.68v and the loom from what i can see is the same

okk wicked thanks for ure help , is the mounts the same on the 1.2 engine and what about the drive shafts etc ? as there easyier to get hold of for the 1.2 rather then the 1.6 lol

You use your gearbox so the shafts dont need changing, shafts are no different to other corsa shafts.

Only need to change the engine mount, cant remember what car you need it off though.

I think it depends on which 1.6 8v, i got a single point injection in my garage and it is EXACTLY the same as the 1.2 single point in the corsa now, only difference is the heads are stamped differently. May be a difference if they are multi to single or vice versa

its a 1.0 12v tho so wont be same as a 1.2 8v doesnt matter which 1.6 you get mounts are the same and dont use you original gearbox pretty sure it wont fit anyway use the right one for the engine
