As above, using the free AVG 8.5 anti virus and it hasnt completed one scan in a month without crashing Windows Vista. Anyone else have this problem?

It crashes to the point the whole laptop locks up bit by bit until you hear the HDD spin down to nothing and I have to reset with the power button.

Any ideas?

Ok, so installed Avira and that is doing the same? Someone must know?
