I've got a 1.4 16v Sport wiv Magnex cat-back system (6x4 tailpipe) & K&N induction kit. Below 3k rpm it is really sluggish even when I floor it. How can I overcome this? Cheerz

Me too it doesnt really go util over 3k in 3rd or higher. I think its just the way the engine is as mine is only 1000 miles old now and its like it, me old one was too.

No, its just the way teh 1400 is why u put an ind kit on it and a cat back system. It'll get really sluggish below 3000-3500rpm.
Only way to sort this is to errrr, get a bigger engine. Its just where our lumps lack torque. 1600cc's dont really have the problem

Yeah I've reset the ecu running on optimax noticed it was a bit more responsive straight away. had it on the rollers, 108bhp at the flywheel not bad considering the mods n size of engine.
I think it's just wiv it bein a 16 valve coz they hav more mid-range torque rather than low-range like on the 8 valve models

U've got more like 95-100bhp. Overreading rollers.
8v were all low down yeah, they would loose power top end. 16v's are rev happy. Higher the revs, teh better they go.
