this for a fish tank?
If so then you should be fine with most play sand as long as you wash it properly.

Argos sell play sand which is fine for fish tanks... I paid about £2.50 for a massive bag.

No its not for a fish tank. We (ibizaoc) are planning something a bit different at a show for next year and sand is part of it and washed sand is sold by builders merchants so will be cheap

Washed sand is What plasteres use for skim and is not usable for play pits! You will get rashes and itching!
You need actual play pit sand! It costs more but wont cause itching and stuff, we rarly sell it at work (builders mechants)

What are you planning to do with it?
400kg isn't much if you want to make something out of it.
