a lot of play when its in gear its not the linkage as thats all brand new and nylon bushed its the actual box

You sure it isn't something prior to the linkage, i.e. something loose between gear stick and linkage - I don't have clue TBH, just having a go

not linkage at all it does it moving the bit on the box by hand going to take the selector fork out and have a look see if i can make an f15 one fit

Have you checked the metal pin that goes through the linkage to make sure its secure.
It goes through the kinda square part above the selector casing andy.

its not anything at all to do with the linkage 100% its inside the box

if it's 100% not the linkage,maybe try another selector as the bush's in them can wear away.
