got it running tonight for the 1st time but the fuel pump is staying on at all times while the ignition is on, cant seem to get it to go off
any ideas anybody ??

why would you want the fiel pump to go off? if it goes off you wont have any fuel?

Sounds like it is running fine to me. As long as it goes off when ignition is off it's all good.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

He means the pump keeps running with ignition on but engine off.

Shoudn't do, if its wired in properly. Sounds like it's wired to an ignition feed as opposed to through the fuel pump relay?

The thick red/blue is wired to the relay point in the glovebox so the pump should knock off once primed until the engine is fired.

I second Terry12 above - As he helped me wire mine
There's a Relay behind the Glove box, tucked up in the left hand side- Purple relay closest the seat - Pin number 8 on there is the wire you need - Remove the relay and leave it out, and connect a wire with a spade connector into pin 8, and trail it to where ever your XE Fuel relay is, and splice it into the same wire..

That should be where Craigs is wired too as I told him on the phone last night
God only knows why it is shutting off once primed.

Oh right - Well mine has no pressure at all in the fuel rail after all the turnong over yesterday - I reckon thats why its not started.. lol

sounds like the fuel pump relay wiring is wrong to me too.
