Can anyone tell me what this plug is for with the 3 wires attached to it that is part of the engine loom?

Also has anyone got a picture of where the engine numbers are on the 1.6 as i cannot find them on mine.

Does the plug go inside the car, can't make it out from the picture?

I know where the engine number is on my XE not sure about the 1600 though...

possibly aircon i think.

engine number is on the front on the side of the strip that mates to the box

The car the engine came from did not have aircon mate.

Iv looked where i think you said to look for the numbers but looks like there is no numbers there.

I will get a picture later of where i looked.

Or if anyone else has a pic of where the numbers are located would be great.

yes mate i goes into the car where the other plugs plug into the ECU.

yer on my tigra engine i have one that actually plugs in, i think the other one was for if you had extras put on the car, it doesnt go anywhere, aslong as its running right i wouldnt worry tbh.

Any tips on how to get them up?

Or is there any other way of finding out what the numbers are as i need them to put on my log book when i declare it.

run a wire brush over it or sum sand paper to clean it off and heypresto your number shoud appear.

tried the wire brush mate also iv been trying to polish it up with autosol but not luck at all.

Would i be able to get the engine number from the dvla if i had the full reg of the car that it came out of?

i dout weather that would work mate worth a try tho, have you tried looking on the front of the block above oil filter i had a corsa with the number on there

weird place compard to the rest,
