well ive got rid of my rear seats but still want a sub in it, so ive put a fake floor in and mounted the sub in the spare wheel well. the problem is it sounds poo. its really tinny with hardly and base, it sounds sh*t hot in the box but nt in spare wheel well. any1 got any ideas on how to make it sound betta ?

subwoofers are put in boxes for a reason, it echos the sound and just makes it sound better.

Use a really thick wood, make sure it's nailed down(no vibration). Damping increases subwoofer efficiency by dissipating some energy that affects the sub, particularly the voice coil. It is advisable to put damping material inside a box. Pillow polyfill and fiberglass insulation are common, though polyfill is a lot easier on your skin. Polyfill also "tricks" a sub into thinking it is in a bigger box. Play around with different amounts of polyfill until you get the desired results.

it's to do with how much air the speaker needs, as it moves in/out, if too much air the speaker trys to move "too far out", if not enough air it'll sound shit also.

i have no idea what the says ^^^^ up there but all i would do is turn the spare wheel well into a box, nice thick mdf on the bottom and sides fill the gaps up ect

cheers kevxx its screwid into inch n quater ply so should be thick enuf ill make sure there defo no vibration then poly fill it
