i drive a 1.0 envoy corsa b. its a 2000 model X reg
its done just over 50k now
when should i change the timebelt?

very soon. I did mine at 62k, but most do them at 40k to play it safe.
Not a hard job, just make sure you have it lined up to TDC (top dead center) before you fire it up else you bend all your valves, lol.
Also to get the bottom bolt off, you'll know which one I mean, it's a cunt, put a wrench on it, turn the engine over (but dont fire it, no sparkplugs or owt), and it hits on a chunk of metal and undoes the bolt easily for you, ask others for details of this little trick though.

Or put the car in gear, then the bottom bolt is stuck in place, and you just take it off higher the gear, harder to turn the engine.

your car doesnt have a belt mate if its a 1.0 12v engine (3 cylinder), its got a timing chain. wont need to worry about that till its done 100k, or if it becomes noisy

yes 1.0 12v engine is chain driven and should be hassle free for the life of the engine, but its advised that you change the timing chain and water pump etc at 100.000 miles.
