Why would you ever not count cash if you were handed it? I can see you perhaps getting away with one $20 bill if the guy wasn't looking at it and just felt it but a wad of cash? No way you would just take it off him, doesn't matter what he said.

That's why I was wondering if it was real. I would never not check cash. And the guy in the jewellry store looks at as if he's counting it, you would surely realise you're just holding bits of paper.

The note swap at a busy pub/bar is a better trick (also on tv) when I say better I mean more likely to get away with it.
