Hey guys, just wondering... how long do you have to declare your car as of the road, before you get a fine?

My tax was due on the 31st august, but i got my SRI on the 27th therefore didnt tax the old car, but i forgot to declare it as SORN and only did it yesterday... But the car sold today, so the new people obviously gonna tax it at the weekend when they pick it up, just worried im gonna get a fine

i declared a car scrapped months ago. sent off a letter and the v5 to the dvla. today i got a fine for 80 quid and i have to pay back dated tax of 24 quid or something on a car i dont own. dvla are shite. expect a fine in the post.

and it is 14 days, i just looked on my reminder notice saying when the tax disk runs out, and i did it yesterday and got email confirmation, so if i get a fine, they aint getting a penny outta me ill take the bastards to court if i have to!

there is nothing positive to say about the dvla. i salute the bloke that tried to letter bomb them.
