my mate has a gsi wiv a x20xev and the eml has come on and sometimes when coming to a stop in traffic it will cut out but then start up fine again. could this be the idle control valve or something else?

Paperclip test maybe, not sure if it still works with a conversion...
Someone else could perhaps clarify.

my brothers having this problem with his. when the revs drop down to idle after driving it stutters and nearly cuts out, sometimes bringing eml on
his is the 1.0 12v
ive had a play with the idle control valve but it looks like its moving about ok....
how do you do this paper clip test matey? and how would you read a code?

sorry i no it should be in help zone didnt realise, yeah it runs fine other that this, the eml is always on not sure why like but spoke to someone before and said it could maybe be the idle control valve, how do you do the paper clip test?? thanks
