haha okay mate no problems...the sensor is really tight in the bracket, WD40 or similar will come in handy

will do mate, where did you get the sensor? i got quoted £28 wont be sorted this weekend cos im going westfest saturday and then will most deffinately be in bed all day sunday lol but ill keep u posted x

i got quoted £28 for a brand new one
decided to go to my local vaux breaker and he did me one for £15 works fine

bump...
crank sensor fixed it for a week
it's in the garage now, they are proving useless and can't seem to fix it!
anyone have any ideas??

have you checked that the woodruf key is ok as they wear and can throw the crank sensor signal up the swany

Woodruf key is what holds thhe crank pulley in position. So when you fit the pulley it slides on this. To check its worn you will have to get the pulley off and have a look.

thanks mate. i will mention it to the garage when i go for a chat
it is weird that replacing the crank sensor fixed it and then 1 week or so later, bam, and it's back to square one again

Alright mate, sounds like your egr needs a good clean or replacing! Mine was going mad when the egr was all gunked up and i cleaned it and its running perfectly again!
Trying giving it a clean and see what happens, dont know why the crank sensor fixed it for a week but if your EML is showing the EGR then clean it! It may just work

yeah i need to try that, didn't get round to doing it when it was mentioned before
did you need to take the bottom inlet off to get to it, or can you reach it from underneath (not looked as the garage have it at the moment)??
