Yay, fellow old skooler...
I only lasted 3 years. Loved the activities, loathed the drill practice, winter classroom learning, and the twat head C/O's we had (some were ok, most were power hungry idiots who just liked shouting at anyone).
Boot camps rocked!!!!! Me and you could share war stories how we hid in bushes at night when going to training bases and playing "capture the flag" etc...

Was indeed the best "activity" time outside school. Done SOOOO much, and where we were on school fields (many acres worth) in the summer we'd jsut go down in greens and go out and make fires and play in the woods.
Winters, those nasty itchy jumpers, sucked though
You ever do any "river runs" or anything (nipple high in water with full kit ).

Can hear them coming from miles away, i thought it was only me that kept jumping up to the window and having a peak

I always do that Jambo, it scares me how alike we are
Last aircraft I saw that was of any interest was XH551 flying quite low over Newbury, I heard it from inside my car it was that loud.

Get a few around here, usually hovering just above the tree line near the A600 (obviously coming from Chicksands) and then just slowly drift across the road - the amount of people that slam on their brakes is comical
Get a load of chinooks, a few lynx and the odd Black Hawk (which i thought was odd) flying around here No decent planes though

Oh how cool is this.
On Northloop is an American pilot that is stationed in Germany, he flys the A-10 and when on exercise they fly over the Nurburgring and use the cars going around the track as laser target practice.
