Just buy a TV...can get a decent 32inch Samsung for about 300.00

Its a games consol, im not that much of a geek ta.
Thats like 4 track days.......
And i've already got a 42" on the opposite wall.
I want to do this as cheaply as possible.

It's a long way of doing it, but yes, will work with most TV cards.
Not sure why you're putting all the effort into the sound - 5 minutes after you start, she'll be complaining she can't hear Eastenders and that'll be the end of sound.
