Yeah, i read that your body goes through cycles every 8 hours or so of sleep and that if you were to say have 12 hors sleep because your body is in the next cycle, been awoken then can make you feel like you have had 4 hours sleep if that makes sense.

Multi vitamin tabs should be your first port of call. Then get a blood test for pre-diabetes too.

Andrew, I was tired all day long... When I woke up I was completely knackered... When I went to bed at the end of the day I couldn't sleep...

generally felt like shit..

Diet + Exercise solves it.

You think you may eat healthy, but your body needs a wide range of vitamins... If for example you have the same veg all the time of green beans and carrots you wont get it all... and probably not enough!

One of the things you need is Vitamin D - which you naturally get from sitting outsde in the sun! If you're at a PC all day long, then that's not going to help!

Seriously, try taking some vits, cleaning out diet of any junk (watch bbc news website, there's a vid news story on there about junk food = tiredness / depression)...

Then do some exercise! Honestly, I never feel more awake than after I've done exercise... plus helps me sleep better when I go to bed!

Quite intresting that Paul, i very rarely do sit outside and yes spend 90% of my day at a PC. Will try and get some walking in and have some vitamin tablets. Will report back.

You need to lift some weights imo..... do it in the morning or straight after work - improves your general strength but also gives you a huge energy burst for a good few hours after a workout. You dont need to go mad to get the benefits ... just a few core lifts with enough weight to make you lose form after about 8 lifts will do you loads of good imo.

agreed you feel kind of pumped after it.

I used to be a member of a gym, went at least 4 times a week, got hooked, felt great all the time always happy etc. do to some shit happening couldnt afford the gym so stopped going, now I sit on my arse all the time and i'm generally grumpy and tired.

excercise is the way forward. i'm gonna start going a run after work at nights now

Rather than making you more tired moderate exercise of any sort releases endorphines in the brain and keeps you happy and mentally alert. I got that off Bear Grylls
