I bought something through paypal not on ebay.. for 185.00

paypal agrred to refund etc but the seller has taken the funds out and they cant refund me

they tell me the case is still open and they try to return me my money on a "try our best basis"

I paid by credit card

I printed off the emails stating I was meant to have a refund etc
and the transaction stating the refund was removed

should the bank be able to help me?

Shouldnt barclays be able to help as you payed by credit card? I always thought credit cards had some kind of "protection" and you could get refunded???

As far as i am aware, you're protected because it is a credit card transaction.

Go and speak to Barclays.

It doesn't matter WHO you pay... You call the credit card company up, they do a chargeback to the merchant (or PayPal) and you get your money back.
