How do I access the threaded rod?
There isn't enough room for me to access it without removing parts from under the bonnet.
Maybe access from underneath?

I cant put my car into reverse. It makes that horrible crunch sound as though you arn't pushing the clutch down far enough.

You should be able to reach your hand down below the battery and cables for the headlights, then just pull the clutch cable forward past the arm with one hand, turn the nut clockwise 2-4 times and test.
