I did it on holiday in Spain in the apartment, I was there with the ring so it was the first thing she saw when she woke up.

Took her to france last week and put the ring in a rose, in a bunch of roses, in a bag ,in a room in the house that we didnt use. when we were getting ready to go out i told her to check that the curtains were drawn and she said, that bag wasnt there before has someone been in, told her to look in it and there we go. never actually asked her to marry me

Took her to Monaco, didnt plan on asking her tbh. Got a bit drunk in a restaurant and mentioned it. Went for a walk after, got to lowes hairpin, sat on the insinde of the bend on the little wall, loads of chinese tourists came walking up the hill towards us so had to wait till they'd gone

Then just asked her the question. Went to the casino after and lost loads of money.

Taking her away etc is impossible just now due to work. I'm on call now till the new year and only have 2 days of next month and shes working both of them.

Was thinking of just going for a nice night out in Edinburgh and seeing what happens, just dont want it to be a tacky affair as were not like that..

How about a night in a nice hotel nearby, so if you did get called out to work it wouldn't be a major problem? Me and Colin went to Airth Castle for a night a few weeks ago to celebrate 1 year engaged. It was lovely and only cost around £90 for B&B for the two of us. We had full use of the Spa facilities included in the price. We took champagne with us, we had a great time and really enjoyed it
