i know it may have been asked many times but ive had several different explanations of people about it. basically, i want to know how long it is after you've passed your test that you can get a maximum of 6 points before you lose your license? i always thought it was 3? but my mate reckons 2? and someone even said 5? i havent got a clue now
Just wanted to know as i passed my test in october 06 and got 3 points a month afterwards and now i may have been caught again today? just want to know if id be alrite? (in case it is 5 years?)

taken from a goverment website
If you have just passed your driving test you must remember you are "on probation" for the first two years. If you clock up six or more penalty points during that time you will lose your licence and go back to being a learner. You will have to reapply for a provisional licence and take both the theory and practical driving test again.
