brought a 1.6 sport couple of weeks ago and theres been a rough sound noise coming from the belts side, took the fan belt off today and the sound stopped so its making me think its the alternator tensioner is broken/going to brake. where can i buy these from and how much?? thanks

spin the tensioner in your hands if its makes a noise change it, also check the alternator for noise, and the idler pulleys as mine have started to go on my 14xe and its making a right wracket

i had the same problem it woz the tensioner, only reason i found out woz because i didnt bother changin mine lol the bearing gave up on me and locked the tensioner up and it snapped my belt loland also snapped my crank sensor and if i remember rightly the tensioner is about 70-80quid

i just undid the pulley off an engine at the scrappy's cost me £2 and fixed my problem.
