What sort of price would i be looking at for a closed door respray on my zs if the body shop do the prepping and how much without?

Because i want the bodywork perfect i am buying both o/s door and 2 new wings which would need spraying on the car.

Well, they are already in anthrecite as its the original coloir.I only need a blowover as its pretty good paint, just with the few dents instead of painting just the doors and wings would rather have whole car done

Somewhere in the region of a grand. Still a lot of work to do, I'm not sure how keen a bodyshop would be to let you do your own prep too.

Yeah thats a fair price. Some bodyshops in tamworth allow it but Im not sure if its worth just letting them do it as that way if its got any imperfections i can atleast explain they done it

How are the wings held on too? Why are you replacing the panels, couldn't they be repaired.

ive done work in bodyshops before and most times if you take something in saying its prepped, they go over it and charge you anyway. personally id leave it to the bodyshop. as you say its their problem if it fucks up.

You wont need new wings, Ive had mine repaired and its perfect, I was very dubious when the fella said I wouldnt need a new one and he would rather repair, has has done a masterpeice with it though, and Im a tough customer where paint work is concerned

big pic so you can see the damage, still doesnt look as bad in the pics as it did in real life, it was absolutly battered

They must of been pretty strong to lift the bike over ur car. take it thats foot peg marks on the wing?

the thing with repairing it, it can be a lot cheaper and easier as u dont need any strip and fit time, may not need to blend panels etc.

but obviously there is a point where its not worth repairing.

It's the problem on my wings being like litle dents in a line.i'm sure it could be sorted but I'm tempted to go with the new wing option as ive found a set on ebay for £10 delivered
