i have a astra gsi turbo and after about 2/3 mins of driving it the traction control seems to turn it self off
and when i press the switch it doesnt turn on again! any one ever heard of this before and had it happened??????

checked you don't have any blown fuses? seems a bit weird it just turns itself off.

and yes, i'd highly recommend keeping it on in the snow. i span twice and almost hit a tree when i gently touched the throttle in my car on a very icy road. shit myself
rain isn't so bad, i usually keep mine off else it'll bog down when pulling away even with an ounce of throttle from traffic lights.

TC in an astra gsi is a complete ballache in the snow,
I used my astra all through the winter last year.
It's now off the road till march as it was a penis of a thing to drive.

Sounds like a sensor reading out of sync with the others, sometimes they need a little while to verify that each wheel is turning, when one reads diff it kills the system. If you have access to a fault code reader this should confirm it however if you dont your gonna need to check each sensor individually.

Mate had problem with his when his tracking was out. Messed all the sensors up

If i was you id unplug the hub sensors give them a clean and plug back in.
My TC was permanent off when i put the Rear abs loom back on and plugged sensors in the wrong wheels.
