Started my car up this morning, pulled off down the hill to about 20mph, then braked gently and the rear end locked up and sent the car sideways, luckily managed to not hit any of the cars on the road, but what would cause this problem? It was as if the handbrake was pulled up. Any help appreciated as this is a pretty dangerous problem for me.

i have the same problem, only occurs when i first start off. becomes fine after a mile or so but they really do clamp down and lock on

My rears used to lok up sumtyms when braking not as bad as that thought anyway come m.o.t time it failed because of brake fluid leaking sumwhere om rear brakes causing uneven braking and loking up.... So chek for leaks .... Just an idea frm previous experience
