I'm getting a bit bored of my Astra and fancy a change and always liked the 888 coupes. Insurance is about £100 cheaper for the 888 than the sri derv with the 3 mods i want to do. And those 3 mods would be around 1k to do.

I think its a good idea but the GF and everyone of mine and her moaning family reckon its a rubbish idea and i should grow up and stop being immature by modifying my cars anymore and get my priorities right

What would you do?

Which 888 petrol mk4?

Not really a massive fan of these and would have rather a coupe turbo

Mk5 888 however I love to bits and would have one in a heart beat

yeah Mk4 Gav. Thing is, if i was to get a decent low mileage Mk4 coupe turbo, im going to want to get new wheels, lower ect and then i'll have spent what a standard 888 goes for, which already has these bits done.

if i keep mine I want to remap it, bbs CH reps and eibach springs, but that'll cost monies that i wouldnt need to spend if i got an 888. Plus the 888 is cheaper than mine.

its good but I wouldnt pay the premium myself as I dont like the interior or the spoiler. Remeber there was one featured in tv a while back that they had put an irmy dtm spoiler on and that looked ace.

But its a shame to do that to a limited edition one.

Like you say though you will probably get one with lower miles and better condition then a run of the mill turbo.

Do they run more power?

Mk4 888 really look a bit crap.

The styling is just a bit Max Power, i'd feel like a tool driving one.

All fair comments, suppose it is a bit max power. But i still like them. feel a bit of a step down interior wise too maybe.

But if i mention doing the things i want to do to mine, i get nothing but shit for 'wasting' money

I wouldn't bother they look too boyracer for me and like they have been modified.

You're from Liverpool too are you not Jay? Normal people don't modify cars in Liverpool or if they do it's subtle.

remember to consider how much more you will be paying for fuel with the 888, when you could have a 200bhp derv that is still quite economical

Mark, not from Liverpool, im from just outside Cambridge.

IvIarkgraham what made you not get one?

Graig, from the money saved in buying the cheaper 888, i probobly wouldn't spend that amount in petrol over a year. Dont do that many miles really. Although it would be a shock to the system
