just remember when taking tyres purchased elsewhere to be fitted, you will be charged more for fitting. so get a quote from your local tyre place before you order off the net as they will quote an all in price.

Already tried some of the garages but seem a lot more expensive than the net, fitting wont be a problem as i know someone who will do it for free

Really?

I've never been charged more than a tyre place adds themselves to a tyre they would have supplied for Fitting/Balancing and Disposal.

I've never paid more than £10 myself - now I normally get it for free, or if their boss is around, £5 a rim...

what people dont understand is there is very little in fitting tyres. they make the money on the mark up on the tyre you buy. actual fitting for a fiver is probably actually costing them money. ive seen people turn up to places i go to with ebay tyres and be told its going to cost you 60+vat to fit 4 which i can only see is a fair price.

you'd be amazed sometimes how much actual tyre places will reduce the price if you haggle with them. i can get any tyre, any make, any size fitted cheaper than any price off the internet. in some cases 25% cheaper.

What are the costs? Power and weights?

Local place to me quotes a tenner and charges a fiver if you talk about off-roading with him.

and time for staff. the fact that the next man in the queue is buying the tyres from you instead of internet so you are making more money from the job etc.

you mught say it isnt fair but think of it from a business view. your not beig fair asking for things for similar price when the company are making no money from it.
