I have just bought a new boot and im thinkign about semi smoothing it,
i read the tutorial on smoothing but i always thought its best to weld ratehr than fibreglass
has anybody got a link to a welding tutorial for smoothing

tbh if you don't know how to weld then get someone who can to weld it for you

It looks pretty simple but as said above its not if you dont know what you are doing.best getting a bodyshop to do it and paint it whilst they do it

Mark speaks the truth! You'd be better off leaving to a bodyshop if you don't have experience.
I did mine myself the first time. Looked fookin mint..for about a week until it cracked what I thought was going to be a cheaper option ended up costing me a small fortune as I had to have a new one make by a pro in the end. That ones been smashed up now so I'm about to have my third semi-smooth boot made lol.

No I mean I know how to weld, I know that bit, I mean the smoothing and bodyfillering part of it, and how big of a size to weld it up and this kinda shibabble.
But how much do a bodyshop charge then?
If that seams the preffered option?

could weld it and get bodyshop to do filler work, your welding better be up to scratch though or they wont garantee their work

i made my own semi smooth boot and to this day its still perfect, welded a plate behind then a skim of filler on top
