In this morning's post not only did I receive an envelope addressed to me that was sent yesterday, but it also had no stamp on it and I wasn't made to pay the underpaid postage on it!
The envelope definately wasn't hand delivered by the sender as it came at the same time with some other mail delivered by our postie.

The sender didn't write their name and address on the envelope. They normally post me stuff out 2nd class as well IIRC!

They've probably realised that it's been the beginning of the end for them for a long while and they're fucked if they piss any more people off.

You got lucky I guess.
Royal Mail stamp it with surcharge not paid, then send you a shitty grey card, you have to then pay the shortage of postage, +£1 handling fee, then the letter gets re-delivered.
I got a whole £5 in tips, same as last year. Sucks not having my own walk and being cover.

How would they know who the sender is if it was dropped in a postbox?

Postie caught me off guard with me stood in the garage with the door open and personally handed me my mail in the snow with his hat on Just gave him all the change in my pocket. Still, hazard of the job tho and it's not like I'd get Christmas tips at my desk

When the postie actually delivers my post I might consider saying hello.
