I went round to see my Nan and Grandpa earlier this evening, and as we always do my Grandpa and I got rattling at each other, with him enjoying telling me tales of times old.
During conversation we got onto one of his old cars, a Standard Sixteen, and he told me stories of buying it at auction, using it to pick up some waitresses... and it's unfortunate death end when a
drunk driver came round a roundabout the wrong way smashing into the drivers side of the car
When I asked more about the car and the others he's had he then told me he had some books I could take home to look through, which would tell me a lot about cars from the 1930s and were very valuable, so I thought I would show them off to people on here and see if anyone knew of this series of books.
I like the bit at the top 'To be completed in about 32 weekly parts' Obviously they weren't sure how many they'd be doing
There are actually 34 parts here, with #24 not present, although i'm sure my Granpa will have it, if not I could try and find it as
this could make a great gift to him
Just thought I would post this up for people to take an interest and to ask if anyone might know anything of them?
Certainly plenty of reading for me
Thanks for looking
