Author problem with my m8s redtop corsa b

alrite where do i start my m8 bought a red top corsa. swapped it for 300 quid and a 205 it didnt run and was a rush job no electrics in properly or the hoses put it anyways he got it started so i come up to see him the gearbox didnt seem to clever and wouldnt go into 2nd so i got the gears working and sorted all the lil bits out. it seemed to run fine but made noises when the clutch was depresssed so we took it down the road and it seemed to be fine so he put it into second and there was no drive tried all the gears they went in but didnt hav any drive now its sat at ome doin nufin any ideas or anyone know what it could be thanks

Clutch related but could be various parts of the clutch I would say.

pedal would be on the deck and no movement if it was the release bearing, have these got adjustable gear linkages?

worn clutch release bearing, mines was doing the same thing, whirring noise when pedal was up and silence when pressed, dependsing on what flywheel its using it could be a quick job to replace the bearing but its prob worth doing a full clutch at the same time, as for the gears id try and set them up again its could be that the car is going into the gear but not correctly

it got a f16 close ratio gear box in it

get it jacked up and remove the inspection plate and find out if its got a flat flywheel or pot type
