the b16 engine has 160bhp and the b18 found in the 5dr vti-s has 170, been loiking into this as i want one for my next car and because my mate used to work for honda and he's a total jap nut, also you can tune a b18 to 300bhp easely with a bolt on turbo kit
some crazy people are pushing out over 500bhp out of the d16 engine as its a stronger block

some people have stupid power out of honda engines. 1000bhp civic type-r and the like.
dont bite my head off for saying this, but the american honda's only run the times they do due to daft ass wider than the car wrinkle wall tyres and racing fuel. dont assume because a civic over there with 400bhp does a 9 second quarter that one over here will.
parts are just so cheap over there for hondas. its almost as cheap as buying wheels over here for a full forged engine.

not going to disagree at all!
They are cheap to tune and as you said the reasons they run fast times is because they are set up with them massive tyres..
