So my standard alloys are 6.5x17" with 205/45/17 tyres and an offset of ET46

I was looking at mo6's in an 8x18" for the front and maybe a 9x18 rear

Firstly how do i work out what offset i need?

I've had a look on http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Playing about tells me what the inner and outer clearances would be..

Is it literally a case of measuring it all up and finding out exactly how much room there is to play with?

Secondly.. What size tyre would i be looking at on the 18's? something like a 225/40/18 on the fronts and a 235/40.18 on the rear?
