Having a night out in Manchester in Feb for a mates birthday. None of us have had a night out there before and I dont trust them to think about finding out where is good to go.

Are there particular areas to go for good bars, pubs and clubs? Similarly places to eat, going to be going for a meal before hand and could do with knowing an area to look for decentish places to eat! I dont fancy wandering around randomly.

We are stopping at the Premier Inn on Portland Street. The only place I know and have been for a drink in Manchester is a small place called Corbieres but dont want to spend all night in there!

Corbieres is decent. if you are going for a meal you might aswell go to the Hard Rock Cafe at the printworks. loads of bars in there too.

Go to Cafe Istanbul for something to eat. The have a few drinks around there (on Deansgate and just off it in places such as Prohibition). Then either go down towards the locks or up to Printworks.

Aye I like it in Corbieres, nice little place so will be in there for a drink or 2 at some point.

Food in there is great, its mainly all spiced meats in various forms. Really tastey and not some of the bland crap you can get in places.

San Carlo is good for something to eat but will need to book a bit in advance.

We went to Cloud 23, for an hour at midnight, was good but ruined rest of night. When get kicked out the pubs / clubs hit the casino.

awesome for a 2am feast that place. it's the only takeaway i've seen where the que goes out the door and round the corner.
