Thoughts are turning to my plans for my birthday in Barcelona, Bank Holiday w/e in August (I like to plan in advance ha!). Always been very keen to go, we will look to fly out early doors Fri mornign and fly back late on the Monday so should ahve plenty of time there

ONly things I knwo I want to do for sure are a tour of the Camp Nou (need pre-booking?) and have a good look round the Segrada Familia (can you tour inside yet? If so, can you pre-book?) but what else should I not miss? The missus will no doubt want to take in some shopping as well!

Wheres a good place to stay for a relatively cheap but good vlaue and good location?

And finally, any recommendations for an upmarket restaurant for dinner on my birthday?

Cheers!

I was there back in May time doing some buying (I didnt do any tbh, I just sat in the sun on the piss down the Ramblas).

I'll get you the name of the restaurant we ate in one of the nights, was really really nice and not stupidly expensive (as I know you're cheap).

You can just walk into the grounds of the Camp Nou and purchase your tickets for the tour when you're there.

The Hard Rock Cafe at the top of Las Ramblas is amazing maybe not for your birthday but I'd definitely go at 1 point.

Yep, just turn up for Camp Nou. Definately worth a look around the trophy room!

DO NOT get sucked into playing the street games on Ramblas. They will rob you blind & tickle your girls nipples before you can say 'Que?'

Alright mate, I was there 2 years ago and loved it! The Nou Camp you can just turn up at and go on the tour round, quite cheap too if I remember correctly. You can look round the Segrada Familia too and climb up one of the towers (preet scary ha)

Shopping for the Mrs is plentiful and loads of designer places around the top of Las Ramblas.

We stayed in a place just off las ramblas, ideal location, think this was it: Was ok but pretty basic:

Just had a look on Trup advisor and think you could get much better for not too much ££

Eating out. We went to Shoku and the Apartment on Las Ramblas, although got asked to leave the Apartment for being too drunk apparently

Shoku: http://www.shoko.biz/en.html

The Area where Shoku is is the place to be, loads of descent bars, clubs, massive Casino and will be ace when you go!

Hope that helps bud!

I went years ago, awesome city, fancy going again. There are some fountains that have a light and music show I remember being pretty decent. BE aware of pick pockets too, someone tried to rob my dad. He was acting sus in a bus queue, and my dad half caught him but wasn't sure, then when the bus came he didn't get on the bus, so that confirmed he was a dodgy get.

The fountains were switched off for annual maintenance when I went, and I think it was around this time of year that I was there. If they are open though then def worth a visit. There's a lot of interesting architecture too if you are into that, but to be hoenst some of the Gaudí buildings I thought were a bit of a let down. We also went to an AMAZING sushi place, ill see if I can find out what it was called if you're interested.
