Worth the extra money, not overly clued up on these engines.

Anyone driven them both so can compare like for like.

Are the van engine high or low blow turbos (Y20DTH [high] Y20DTL [low])

I have the Y20DTH in the hatchback and its decent enough grunt to accelerate at a fair pace, if you stick to the speed limits you can see 60mpg in it, so with the van lacking heavy interior I would say should easy see that sort of MPG, which lets face it after load space is probably the next thing to look at for a van?

edit - gains on both engines by remaps OR tuning boxes are fairly small

1.7 without a shadow of a doubt, so so much more reliable and massively less costly when they go wrong.

A mate had one when I worked with him and it was fun racing the 1.7s and seeing the look on the drivers faces when you pull away from them.
