Seem to be using quite abit of oil and smokes quite bad Also when I put my hand over the back box I get little black specs of oil on my hand easy fix or hard job?

sounds like the rings are f***ed...i wudnt say its an easy job 2 do either

mmm, I might put my hand over my backbox tomorrow then, yours sounds possibly a similar problem to mine (on Oil Light thread) Mine seems to be using alot of oil too.

aye prob the rings ma gsi was the same when revd it whent off but on tickover it was on

I would get some oil additive thickner and try again. Quick bodge untill you can save some money

yea arround 200. Mine were around 220 when I tested after the rebuild

Mine has little bits of oil when started/ dirty water, but has not been driven for a while could this be the cause?

vauxhall engine in using oil shocker, seems to be a common prob on the ecotec's

Yer will either be the valve seals, or the rings, hope it's the valve seals!

Somebody told me that could be the head gasket going, as when water is vaporised it turns to steam, then condenses back into water in the exhaust when it cools, not sure though?, they could of been talking crap?

Sure it's oil and not carbon deposits out the exhaust?

Not at all, it could be dirty water for all i know, its a newish engine to my car and was very well looked after by davieslim on here when was in his car
