hi just wondering why do people cut out the bit of plate that goes down from the slam panel which holds the air temp sensor? just curious as to why people do it???

i see it on a redtop corsa, but its only a tiny strip of metal in the middle how can that possibly affect the breathing

Most later ones dont have it in the first place. My 1999 tigra dont, nor does my 98 Corsa 1.0.

It dont really do much, its called the slam panel support, Vauxhall must of changed there mind and thought it wasnt needed!
Most people remove it from Nova's as they have the same thing. Your just need to make up a bracket for the temp sensor.
