Well after 3 years, 40,000 miles and endless amounts of fun and memories the day has come to finally kill off my car. It was my first real car the i spent time and money on and even though its bin a nightmare recently i loved every second of it. But.....The head gasket gave up a couple of days ago and was running on 3 cylinders until warm. All of the smoothed archs have cracked. My sister reversed into the rear quarter and creased it. The rear bumper has cracked. The windscreen cracked from side to side after i put the heaters on when it was cold. So all in all it had come to the end of its life But after the road trips, photoshoots, weekend at PVS, all the times ive washed and polished it, its a sad day Anyway its onto another corsa and hopefully i'll get more fun times in this one
Just a few pics of it in its hayday

And a few pics of the new one

Has anyone else got a bit upset when getting rid of their "first" real car that theyve spent time and money on?

Shame about the red one, but having anything smoothed is a pain in the arse!

Didn't your new corsa belong to someone on here?

Ye the new one was Kurt's originally.

Ye i couldnt be bothered with the hassle of re-sanding, re-fillering, re-painting and the cost of it all.

Mine is going on Saturday. She has been a trusty daily driver for over 3 years and over 40k miles. Plenty of fun times, including with the misses I think I'll cry when I drive off and leave her at the Mazda garage.

Id rather strip and scrap mine than sell it as it would kill me to see it on the back of a tow truck with a tree sticking out of it

New one looks promising, shall keep an eye on the project thread

I sold my Green one before I bought my Gsi, it followed the same fate most peoples car have on here who have sold them on, being crashed
Went to see it and was tempted to buy it back but it was soo bent it wasn't worth the time or money

Fair enough mate, I just didn't have the space to break the car for bits, I still got good money for the car so can't complain, it didn't feel good when I heard about it and seen it for the first time, but as soon as I had seen the car in person for a while I wasn't that bothered, I got something better out of it so his loss not mine

Ye i dont think id ever get a decent price for mine in the state its in so thats another reason as i couldnt justify selling it for nothing compared to how much it meant sentimental wise. I mean i had a saxo for my first car that got written off after 3 weeks but i never missed it as i didnt spend much time or money on it.
