Used to have a big tub of USN Muscle Fuel Anabolic.

The one I had had used to have like 50g of Carbs as well as 40g odd of protein per serving.

But some people say forget the weight gainers?

Now personaly ive spoke to my gf's dad who used to be a body builder and got to the uk finals in bodybuilding back in the day..he also has a degree in sports therapy and fitness and was a personal trainer for years.. said you need the carbs when trying to get bigger and you also need them for energy.

So is it best to just stick to the same powder, what difference would getting one with just like 50g of protein per serving and no carbs in have? Will I just not put on size?

Some would say 50g of protien is too much in one serving, im yet to form my own opinion on this though.

If your bulking id stick with what u know if its working well.

tbh if its too much then it isnt going to convert in to fat, your body will just use what it needs and the rest will be gone as waste.

stick to whey protein, you can always mix a carb powder like vitargo in as well for post and pre training shakes.

boditronics, phd or myprotein are the only ones i would really recommend

Any low/zero carb whey protein from a good brand will be good. Although PHD diet whey is proabably a better chance as it is mixed with casein and green tea extracts.

So if I am increasing my daily intake of protein by a lot using whey protein and cutting my carb intake will I still put on size? or is the whey protein only bennifical to repairing muscles after training, does it have to be carb based to put on size.

Depends if you just want lean muscle mass or not. Excess carbs will only get stored as fat, thus putting on "size"

Edit - in my non-qualified opinion.

Yeh but to get the muscles you need to bulk up and put on weight to turn it to muscle....and one downside to this is putting on excess body fat..but then you can loose it when you do a fat cut plan.

All I want to know is how the whey protein with hardley any carbs in differs from the ones with carbs in.

I obviously dont want to be fat, but i need to build the muscles.

Get the non-carb Whey and eat a banana post work out.

The carbs in the shake are likely to be just sugar anyway - may as well get it from something natural.

I would go with what ever your missus' dad says if he is an ex body builder and knows his stuff!

If you need any protein powders etc I alwasy use myprotein.
