I bought my Black LCR a few weeks back and it looks like the previous owners were fans of the car wash!

How can I get rid of the swirl marks? Will a autoglym super resin polish do the job or am I better off going to the local pro shine valeting place and paying £75 for them to machine polish it?

Rich H, get him up there for a few hours. Don't even attempt it yourself.

Either mask it with a decent glaze or pay someone to correct it. I think Super Resin has mild abrasive in it so it should mask the light swirls.

The going rate for paint correcton is around £250 by a pro.

i needs machine polish really mate. autoglym SRP masks them quite well but can't remove them just by hand polishing.

super resin polish is good to be honest, will remove very minor swirl marks in the paint, but if there quite bad swirls then you will have to use a DA etc to remove them as theres only so much you can do via hand..

as Ojc said i wouldnt attempt it yourself if you have no past experience as you may cause damage to the paint, but speak to rich H off here to see what he thinks..

Contrary to the above its not hard especially with a DA, if you burn through paint with a DA you really are a retard.

Using a rotary however you do have to be a little more carefull and the results can be quick and really good.

Autoglym SRP did a good job of masking the minor ones the Datsun had.

SRP has fillers in it you really need a more abrasive polish to get rid of them completely but you'll never manage it by hand

As others have said SRP will only really mask the swirls, you will need more aggresive polish and a da or rotary to get them out, or go and get it done by a pro, really depends if you think you would benefit by buying a da or rotary yourself. If its just a one off get it done somewhere.

Again only masks them though and has no protection elements in it, so needs to be topped with sealant / wax. Or I can help
